The college is housed in a state-of-the-art, three-building complex, featuring modern classrooms, lecture halls, labs, conference rooms, student club spaces, and offices for more than 100 faculty and staff.Department of Management and Human ResourcesThe Management and Human Resources (MHR) Department is one of six departments in the College of Business Administration and the Singelyn Graduate School, which serves more than 5,000 students. Our students are highly diverse, including first-generation students, many Latinx students, African American students, and students from other minority groups. The MHR Department has 18 tenure-track faculty members, 16 adjunct faculty members, and more than 700 students in this major. The faculty members of the MHR department prepare students to become effective professionals by employing the "become by doing" philosophy and the "teacher-scholar" model. Through discipline-based knowledge, we develop our students' skills in management, human resources and entrepreneurship. Our aim is to graduate students who are productive and responsible citizens.The PositionThe temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Required QualificationsAn MBA or a master's degree in a related field or disciplinePreferred QualificationsA Ph.D. in Management or related disciplinePrior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.Prior work experience relevant to the subject area(s) of teaching.Salary and Benefit InformationInitial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are for one semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
