Candidates may need to be available to begin assignments on short notice.Assignments may include teaching, curriculum development, facilitation, program coordination, partnership engagement, mentorship, applied learning supervision, and other related duties connected to college initiatives and special projects.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include:Teaching undergraduate, graduate, credential, or professional learning coursesSupporting interdisciplinary and community-engaged learning experiencesFacilitating initiatives connected to emerging technologies, innovation, and applied learningDeveloping curriculum, workshops, seminars, or co-curricular programmingSupporting educator preparation and workforce development initiativesMentoring students participating in college initiatives and special programsCollaborating with PK-12 schools, districts, community organizations, and external partnersAdvancing initiatives connected to student success, belonging, innovation, and career readinessParticipating in initiative planning, implementation, and assessment activitiesHolding office hours and fulfilling responsibilities associated with assigned workloadAssignments may include day, evening, weekend, hybrid, online, or off-site responsibilities.Required QualificationsA Master's degree in education, educational leadership, ethnic studies, Africana studies, social sciences, humanities, public policy, technology, community development, organizational leadership, or a related interdisciplinary field relevant to the assignment.Demonstrated expertise, professional experience, or community-engaged work connected to the assignment area.Evidence of ability to work effectively with a variety of students, communities, and partners.Commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and applied learning environments.Preferred QualificationsAn earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent terminal degree) in education, educational leadership, ethnic studies, Africana studies, counseling, social sciences, humanities, public policy, technology, organizational leadership, or a related interdisciplinary field relevant to the assignment.Prior teaching or facilitation experience in higher education, professional learning, community-based, or interdisciplinary settings.Experience leading or supporting grant-funded, partnership-based, or mission-driven initiatives.Experience working across educational systems, community organizations, or workforce development contexts.Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive practices.Experience integrating emerging technologies, applied learning, or workforce readiness approaches into educational environments.Salary and Benefit InformationInitial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are for one semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
