The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department at Cal Poly Pomona has two undergraduate programs, Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, as well as two master's programs, Engineering Management and Systems Engineering. The IME department is among a few departments in the state of California that offer a Manufacturing Engineering program. Its strategic location makes it possible to collaborate with various industries in the region. During the last decade, the department has grown from about two hundred students to more than six hundred. Our students and faculty come from a diverse set of backgrounds. Currently, the department has nine tenured/tenure-track faculty members and about twenty lecturers who cumulatively teach an average of a hundred sections of our courses per semester. Committed to thePolyX experience, the Department provides students with access to several laboratories designed for instruction of Industrial and Manufacturing courses. Among those are machining and automation laboratories. The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall ****. We seek candidates with expertise in Human-System Integration (including Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality), Human Factors and Ergonomics, Intelligent Systems, and Decision Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a broad range of industrial engineering courses (e.g., Human Factors Engineering, Operations Research, Facility Planning, Lean Manufacturing), develop new courses in human systems integration, and establish a strong, externally funded research program in their area(s) of expertise. A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university by the date of appointment is required.
